About
Us
Larger
Than Life Stagewear is managed by Andrea Gambell, who has
been involved in drama most of her adult life.
Andrea
was trained in Acting, Mime and Improvisation back in the
1960s by Joan and Harold Reese, who were members of the BBC
Drama Repertory Company (sadly now no longer in existence).
She became
interested in costumes some years ago when she joined Bromley
Little Theatre and has enjoyed costuming large cast productions
there over the years, such as "A Christmas Carol",
"An Ideal Husband", "The Cherry Orchard",
"Allo,'Allo", "Inherit the Wind", "Ghetto",
"A Journey to London", "Cold Comfort Farm"
and "On The Razzle".
"Larger
Than Life Stagewear" has now been open for two and a half years, and
Andrea has gradually built up a fantastic collection of period
stagewear and contemporary fashion clothes suitable for all
occasions. Most of the period costumes were made by a great
friend of hers, Allan Scott of South London.
She is
passionate about making people feel comfortable when wearing
a costume and knows how important it is to an actor to be
confident in all aspects of the role being played.
